Formulation Advantages
SkinMedica’s Vitamin C Complex is a highly stable,
concentrated combination of both water-soluble ascorbic
acid and lipid (fat)-soluble tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate
formulated for gradual release into skin. In addition,
the formulation includes a stabilized ester of Vitamin
E (tocopherol acetate) and the oil-soluble natural
form of Vitamin E (tocopherol). Thus, Vitamin C Complex
provides both the body’s most important lipid-soluble
antioxidant (Vitamin E) and the body’s most
important water-soluble antioxidant (Vitamin C), each
having unique antioxidant properties as well as synergistic
photoprotective qualities.
Directions
In the morning, cleanse, tone and apply TNS Recovery
Complex . Next, apply one to two drops to fingertips
and gently smooth onto face and neck with an upward
stroke. Follow with sunscreen and moisturizer. CAUTION: A mild, temporary stinging
is normal.
Sunburn Alert
This product contains an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA)
that may increase the skin’s sensitivity to
sunburn. Use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while
using this product and for a week following discontinuation.
Key Ingredients
L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C-10%) - A water-soluble
vitamin found in plants and produced synthetically.
When ascorbic acid is applied topically, it appears
to reduce the skin’s inflammatory response to
UV radiation. An antioxidant that inhibits free radicals,
ascorbic acid improves and protects future damage
by promoting cell promoting cell renewal and encouraging
the synthesis of collagen.
Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C-5%) - A stable,
lipid-soluble ester form of ascorbic acid, a free
radical scavenger that fights aging symptoms in the
skin while enhancing collagen production of firmer
skin. Helps reduce hyperpigmentation and age spots.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E acetate) - Stabilized
ester of Vitamin E that is considered the most important
antioxidant and free radical scavenger. Moisturizes
the skin from within, improving smoothness. It also
helps prevent lipid peroxidation that can cause cell
membrane damage.
Tocopherol - Oil-soluble natural form of Vitamin E.
One of the most active, natural, free radical scavengers
known. May help to reduce scarring by interfering
with free radical processes that increase scar formulation.
Also preserves and prevents rancidity of other natural
oils.
